Once she realised that she is homosexual, Gilbert chose to not discuss her personal life when she was in public. She dated Johnny Galecki in her first acting days before realizing she was gay. She then went on to be in a relationship with producer Allison Adler.After the breakup right before the airing the talk-show she hosted Sara Gilbert came out publicly. Sara Gilbert was engaged to Linda Perry from 2014 to the year 2019.
